As the shell is away at the panel shop I figured I should start tarting up some of the gear to go back into it once it returns. As it will be a disc brake rear I need to support the inbound end of the flexible caliper hose. Got the idea from another member (Matt I think) to mount a bracket to the bump stop plate instead of the diff housing.
I will be getting a custom set of braided lines made so figured I could do whatever was easiest. I have a number of spare spacers from my rear disc kits kicking around so 30mins later I came up with these.
Hose in pic is just to give the idea of how it will all hook up. Actual hoses will have the 10mm male fitting each end.

Neat job Paul, I did the " weld to diff housing " bit. Your method means you don't have to patch up the paintwork, my housing was all painted up before doing the final brake install!  Len

Mine still needs paint Len but this seemed pretty straight forward. The job for the weekend is to paint the diff and begin plumbing the brake lines.

Thanks for posting a good thread Paul, I've just read it from the start.

From 2009 until now, you (and your partner) must have great patience.
The best part of this has been able to get all of the installments in one go.

Ok now it should be painted, and we expect weekly (not yearly!) updates.
On the home stretch!

Was tossing up whether to paint or powder coat my axle. Decided to give painting a go with the KBS product.

So a little while with a grinder and wire wheel to clean it up ready to go. Use this product at work and goes on well and flows out nicely considering it's applied with a brush and appears to be resistant to chipping etc. It's a satin finish and still has to dry but looks acceptable.

Looks good Paul. That KBS stuff is great. I used it on the underside of my car, it sticks like nothing else and self levels so you don't get brush strokes...
Cheers Drew.
