I'm assuming they're the short struts as the strut at full extension is approx 40mm shorter than my stock ones with Bilstein inserts. Is there a potential problem I don't know about?

Hi Matt. What rate are your springs and where did you source them? Do you have any pics of them installed etc?

No issues that I know of with short struts Paul. More preferable if running the car low. My 2L struts don't have much travel cause I'm running fairly low.

The good thing with the short throw insert is when yu give it large exiting a corner the inside wheel lifts off the ground !!

I have these struts in my cortina, used QA1 springs atm, but need a collar for the larger OD springs in AUS, ill keep looking and swap for 180 or 200 pounders

Hey Mate,

The springs are 275lbs and came with the whole kit from GAZ inc struts tops built to my specs.  If its a race car id go 300lbs personally.

You can get 2.5" springs from kings or any spring manufacturer here in Oz

There's a heap of pics in my build thread.  Do you mean under the wheel arch pics?

Cheers

Matt

I have found with the GAZ struts the collars and seat are suitable for a 2.25 spring, which are hard to find in oz, i should have got them when i ordered, dang

By the look of their Motorsport catalogue Kings make quite a selection of 2.5" (65mm) springs. I thought Gaz is the 2.5" springs as the strut body diameter is 62mm?

A little update of one of the little jobs to do before it hits the paint shop. If I plan to use door speakers or central locking I want a decent way to run the harness to the doors. A walk around U-pullit revealed a couple of Mazda 121 hatch loom grommets. These fit the bill being small and round to make it easier to install. A stepped drill and a couple hours later this is the result.
