OK,so the audi rotors are a no go then,I was going to go for r31 rotors and calipers my self and just fabricate/machine every thing around them to suit,so long as it all fits inside 15" wheels im happy.

Whens the car getting painted???

Not sure if you miss-understood but I'm using the Audi rotors as they are less work to fit. Either way you need to make (or at least modify) the bracket but at least you don't need to touch the rotors when using the Audi items.
Paint - not sure but will need to finish the rust sections. Hoping towards mid year to be in the panel shop.

OK, another mediocre update [:I]

Purchased another set of rims to get some decent outers. Found it will be cheaper to do it this way instead of paying to get the others refurbished. Anyway, I now have a set of 15x7 and 15x7.5 which should be ideal considering the offest of my centres will currently have 24P on the front and 18P on the rear.

I now have an array of inners and outers plus 7 Porsche centres which I have started listing on Ebay!

Hi, good hearing that progress is hapenning on your car Paul,
rear disk setups are personal preference, size, calliper etc and what can mate up with what the easiest !
I have gone the Volvo 244 solid front disk for my rears and 1990+ Peugeot 405Mi16 rear callipers, only cause they have handbrake levers, attached to the housing with 'butterfly wing' shaped 10mm bkts welded on (axles out as heat will destroy brgs). i did this arrangement on my mk2 some 10yrs ago and its been very reliable .

OK, I managed to pick up a cheap set of later model FD (Series 6) callipers. Basically identicle to the FC (Series 3,4) items but have a more modern appearance (which i prefer).

The only real improvement I can see is more material around the inside ends of the callipers adjacent to the brake pad recesses. Piston sizing (36mm) and mounts etc are identicle although there must have been alterations to the hub mounting points to accomodate the increased rotor size (276 - 294) between the FC and FD models.

Below are the 2 callipers placed on the 283mm Peugeot rotor used with the conversion.

The older set (RHS) will more than likely be the set sold with my brake upgrade package here http://classic-ford.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17894

Looking good Paul. I was looking at a picture of the latest Caterham with a Duratec in it and noticed that rather than a "water rail" running from the back of the head and along the side, they'd just used a rubber hose?? Is this an option in your situation (I know it's not a Duratec, but is a similar set up, no)??

Hi Cam.

It's an option but as I'm going for the 100% factory look install my only real option is the Raceline item. A little pricey but they're about the only one which does not look like a tacked on after thought.

Cheers

OK, brakes well on the way.

Fronts almost done - just waiting for the rotors to be machined. (yes - the calliper is on the wrong side hence the bleed screw at the bottom [:I])

Rears all but done - just need to get the parts plated and sort out the fluid lines and hand brake layouts (pictures below during initial fitting).

Nice Paul.

Except it says Mazda on the calipers. Can you grind that off?
