Looks so nice to be working on totally cleaned shells. Makes it look more encouraging somhow.

you three guys must be responsible for keeping 90% of aus capris around.

I think Spud is saving them half way round the globe.

I'm only responsible for one Capri, and one is enough for me, although it's nice to have it clean finally and not looking so much like a wreck in the garage when the other half walks in. People are now asking what color i'm going to paint it not realising the work still to do.

Wiggy I have mainly been using the spoon and the piece of leaf spring in the photo to put pressure on the roof panel behind the frame. It slips behind the frame and roof skin and leaver off the frame.

May be a bit tricky if it was near the roof and rear quarter join, would have to remove the lead and see what can be done.

Stripped the boot lid to find more bodge work, looks like the car was "debadged", at some stage by hitting round the holes with a hammer and boging up only to be "rebadged" at a later date, by drilling new wonkey holes.
Bought a set of FORD letter badges off eBay, they are nicely made, to determine which holes needed filling.
Finished quite well after some gentle beating round the holes. Pretty straight forward but needed to be done.

Interesting project you're working on. I look forward to more update.

some people shouldn't be allowed to own a Capri.
Nearly as bad as fitting Torana taillights.

That would have been a nice surprise for you Blue.
Hopefully there are no more.

Your right deano, easy fix fortunately.

The swinging panels are ready for some paint after a bit of a clean and some beating. Hopefully get them primed in the next couple of days.

Looks like a decent car now. Long way from where you began and love the workmanship. Well done.

Oh and I love slapping a panel. The other half always takes a video when I’m the garage doing it and just says death by a thousand hammers. Easy to get a good finish with the right shaped dolly behind it.
