Yeah like most trades these days the old school techniques arent taught anymore, they just arent needed or at least thats what your told. A good trimmer doesnt use glue unless its absolutely neccessary.

I ended up by having a couple of beers looking at his work afterwards Forgot to add, asked about having the c-pillars trimmed, he ended up trimming them as part of the roof lining... offered up the parcel shelf today and it doesn't look too bad.... Still after a decent set of trims but this will do for now...... Drew....

Hi Drew,
If you're looking for decent interior C pillar trims maybe try one of the forum members- I think he is listed as Jimmy D, he has a nice black 4 door RS and lives in Cairns. He tried hunting out some trims for my 2 door but found his were 4 door. I'm pretty sure he said they were in decent nick, this was sometime in the last 12 months. Send him a PM, you never know your luck..
Cheers,
Len

Thanks Len, I'll give him a call......
Got the windscreens in today, big step, its all sealed now and I can really get stuck into the interior. I may even give it its first wash tomorrow. My mates father was a windsreen fitter, when we all got our licences he was bombarded with 'love' jobs doing windows for all the boys. He called us all over one saturday morning and ran a class on how to fit them, haha thanks Frank I did pay attention I allowed a whole morning to do them but it was all done in just over an hour. Parcel shelf went back in along with the wipers and mirror... Carpets and my re-furbished volante wheels arrive next week but for now thats it for another saturday in the garage... Drew....

Looking great Drew!
Just a question what sort of prep work did you do on the underside before painting?
I'm weighing up how to approach mine.

Thanks for the positive feedback Shaul... I used por15 on the underside, that stuff will stick to anything. Prep was a good scrub with soapy water and a bit of degreaser around the trans tunnel. There was a bit of bare metal from the rust repairs, I used underseal tar and textured it with a sponge once it had gone off a bit to match the original underseal... If your underside isn't too bad try a scrub with straight wash and wax, it bought the underside of my Cortina up a treat and still looks good to this day...
Cheers Drew...

Drew, please post a picture of the Volantes once they are painted, as I'd like to see how good a professional paint job makes them look.
