There is either an 8 bolt 7in or 10 bolt 8in.

I know Heaps about the 7in Mazda diffs and have LSD's and parts for them. I have been researching them for about 6 years, pulling diff centres, importing parts and LSD's and selling them on websites. I have started working with the later larger (8") type lately but not with commercials, mainly the IRS models S6/S7/S8 RX7's.

The 7' is an absolutely brilliant diff for use in under 200hp cars.

I have given up trying to convince people they are far better than a Hilux for anything under 200hp.

I am yet to see a 8 bolt unit(8 crown wheel bolts?), all my centres are 10 crown wheel bolt and 10 bolt to the housing

The crown wheel bolts are all 10. The housing bolts come in either 8 or 10. The 8's are the smaller 7' crown wheel and are not interchangable with the bigger 8' parts.

The 7' with 8 bolts to the housing in the Bongo, Econovan/Spectron are 26 spline and are good for up to 250hp and still use the same LSD's. The axles in the Capellas, RX2's, Rx3's, Series 1 & 2 RX7 all used 24 spline axles and they were the weak point.

The Capella and RX2 diffs are the perfect length for the Escort unarched.

I will be using an RX4 12a housing and RX4/RX5 13b axles, 28 spline but again use the same 7' ring gear. Mine has bubble arches on it though and the RX4 12a housing is perfect.

Ok sweet as, but do you have any info on what diffs are in late couriers and mazda b series?

Haven't really worried about them. Most people go for Hilux.

I have never pulled one down. The 8'Mazda RX7's have 30 spline stub axles with IRS and I think the Solid rear utes have 31 spline axles so the LSD's wont be interchangeable. Not sure about the crown wheels but I have a couple of LSD's so if you have a crown wheel and pinnion and you can measure the pcd of the crown wheel bolts I can check it against the LSD.

So i have a B1800 courier diff,4.444 ratio.Now can you change the pinion yolk over???As i dont have a tailshaft to suit my current pinion yolk....cheers
