How about acetone? Thinner than paint stripper so may work its way between the strut and resin.

Got my saw made and tested it - looks like it will work. Spent last 2 weekends getting a boat ready for the painters, so maybe this weekend - so long as new baby doesnt come - he's due today[:u]

Acetone - great idea. Will try that if saw doesnt work.

Well I had to concede defeat once the housing broke so I went to my favourite place - ebay uk - and picked up a set of mk3 struts complete with springs and tops, and while I was there picked up a set of D port heads and D port manifold. It all arrived today so hope to be up and running soon.

Kev how did you go with the ride height with those heavy duty springs? Were the theoretical calculations close?

Steve I ended up trying a set of King KFFl13 springs which are the lowered set for a V6 but it still sat at the same height, these I borrowed from V8gfish which were from his Perana so I had a look at his Perana of which has a set of the King KFFl12 springs of which makes the Perana sit perfect so I ended up buying a pair of the KFFL12 springs & I whislt it's a little higher than the Perana I am very happy with the outcome, I will post a couple of photos from the Albany show a couple of us a going to this long weekend.

Kev.

Some pics would be great. So does that mean the heavy duty ones sat too high, or did you not even try them. I am just curious as to how accurate the theory based calculations are.
