Can anybody tell me what rear 60 mm I.D. poundage springs people are running on their cars? I have read some of the topics on here and see that people are running 140lbs to 170 lbs springs. I went into a few suspension places and they said that the lowest 60 mm I.D. springs you can get is 200 lbs for King springs. My questions are - are these to stiff for the rear? If other people have lower poundage springs, what are they? poundage and maker. These springs are going to go onto some GAZ coilovers. Will any higher I.D. springs fit?
I have seen that 63mm I.D. springs have lower poundage springs available.
The car will be mainly a street car with the odd track work happening.
Any comments would be appriciated.

I am running 225lb/in at the moment, but I think they are too stiff for most things, including driving on the road (I have 400's in the front).

I've just ordered a pair of 175's from Kings, so I'll see how they go.

Prior to putting coilies in the back, I had std leaves with an extra 1/2 leaf, so I figure they were about 150 and seemed ok.

You can get coils made to whatever specs /poundage you want doesn't have to be an off the shelf thing. Thats what I done and worked out actually cheaper then kings/etc charge.

I take it that you all have 63mm I.D. springs running in your cars?? Kings do not make anything less than 200lbs in 60 mm I.D.. Why would that be??? Seems silly, especially if your running them on the back of a car.
Kizza - where did you get the custom made springs from?

Start with around 145-150lbs/in. Lots of people make these 63mmm/2.5 inch springs eg Faulkner, Eibach etc. You may be able to fit 2.25 inch springs that are also marketed. Just work out the length you need. I think even Smacka may be dealing in springs now , perhaps with limited range in stock though.
It may be worth checking out overseas Demon Tweaks(UK) , check out their catalog.Cheap buying O/S at the moment and you will have them inside a week.

I got my springs made here> http://www.sssprings.com.au/ close to home and pretty cheap in comparsion to an off the shelf item considering your getting a one off that fits spot on.

I run 60mm ID 175lb springs in the rear of my corty...they are Eibach brand supplied by Heismann Steering in Sydney

They work well, feel good on the road, awsome at the drags for a track focused setup, track is yet to be tested but based on feel on street and drags, can only be better than the old leaf setup on the track

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I ended up getting a pair of 160lbs springs from Rally design in the U.K. - 19 pounds each.

Lovell springs will custom make any spring you wish. Just for future reference. Always fund them easy to deal with and well priced.
