Just wondering what the total advance of the dizzy is for the 3lt, as I am going to lock it up to fit programed ignition, I need to know this value. I have looked and looked but apart from pulling the dizzy and getting out a protractor to measure it I can find no info on the web or in the ford service book for that matter.

Ah many thanks, I am now on the hunt for a factory manual.

They come up on ebay but be carefull. I once bought a "new" one which was just a photocopy that was so poor that the text on the other side of the page showed through. Got a refund but lost on postage.

They are expensive and the image of the cover looks wrong and they usually mention somewhere that they are a re-print.

So wait for a good second hand one to come up.

Ford did a reprint of these manuals at some stage, and they may still be available through your local Ford dealer. I have one of these (as well as an original) and they are quite good. They are obviously scanned from an original manual, but don't have the issues GTV6 mentions above. You can certainly tell the difference between an original 70's print version and the more recent reprint, but if you couldn't find a good original one on ebay at a reasonable price, then I'd try a Ford reprint.

The part number is WM110 and from memory they were $100-120.

Yes but they are different to the ones that say re-printed under license.

Thanks fella's have now a copy of the original Ford manual, printed 2/70. It is older than me and in far better condition [88]
