What I mean is that if you take a foot off the lenth of the outer, and a foot off the length of the inner, you've essentially got the same amount of cable doing the work; it's just shorter overall, and a tighter fit in the engine bay. My Burton-supplied cable is long enough to mount to both the bell housing and the firewall, but the inner won't reach the pedal
and the clutch fork. Compared to the stock cable, the outer is a little shorter, but the inner is shorter still.
