Hi,

Without doing the physical swap I was hopeful someone could answer the question from first hand experience?

Thanks,
Rhys

Think all the mark 2"s came out with 13" wheels.

Hi Len,

Yes agree they did but I've fitted a Mk2 front end to my Mk1 and wanted to know if I could put fit the original 12" wheels back on if I ever wanted to. Sounds like I can't.

Haven't owned a mk1 as yet. What are the differences in front ends. It was under the impression they were similar give or take imperial or metric tie rod ends and tie rod arm on the strut being bolt on or integated

Yes they are similar, I wanted to use a Mk2 rack and also had a set of Mk2 2lt struts with new springs and shocks sitting around. Mk2 also has slightly bigger brakes but wasnt sure if it was enough to stop me fitting the 12" rims back on - currently has 13"s on it.

All my other Escorts are Mk2s so made sense to stick with Mk2 bits where not obvious.
