Need some new windscreen rubbers for my Mk2 4 Door and wondering whats the best available or whats available locally. Have heard mixed review on some of the rubbers out there. Has anyone used the rare spares kit and how good is the fit of them? I have noticed having a read though previous posts that baileys channel seems to be wrong in some kits too. All previous experiences and reviews welcome just want to get a good fit and hopefully only order them once.

Hi Darryl,
What sort of rubber are you going to use- the standard one with the groove for the locking strip or the solid RS type?
Haven't used the rare spares ones- bought all my rubbers from Scotts old auto rubber- fitted well and the bailey channel stuff was a great fit also- the right profile and good quality. I would also recommend the rubber preservative solution which they sell. Did all my rubbers when fitted and 12 months on they still look like new-UV up here is a killer.
cheers,
Len

Thanks for the reply Len,
I was going to use the standard type with a chrome lock strip or are the RS ones better to use?
Scotts Old Auto rubber in QLD or the place in Victoria? Sounds like that could be the go if they have a complete kit.

The RS ones are solid no locking strip- depends on how you want to match up your trim. Think it was the Melbourne place that supplied the kit.
Cheers,
Len
