Hi will the 3 core rads on eBay with no angle cut on the top sides fit or will the bonnet not close due to this?they are a fair bit cheaper than the angled ones. It's a Mk2 Rs.cheers.

R they bigger in height against the standard rad?. If same length shouldn't matter. You can also have your standard radiator made up as a 3 core. I am running a 3 core standard rad with a fairly warm pinto and with the bars in the grill ( mines is an RS ) opened up to provide more airflow to the radiator my engine doesn't reach half way on the temp gauge.  Live in far north so gets hot up here.

yes they are the same size as standard rad just not angled,i always thought this was to allow bonnet to close due to ribs underneath that would hit if rad had 90 degree corners, ive never tried to measure though.motor never overheats even when pushed hard but as soon as i come to a stop then needle goes straight to hot so maybe something else is going on?also if someone has put in one of these rads i would like to hear if you had clearance issues.thanks

Juzzy, when in doubt do a couple of measurements. My alloy rad has square top tanks. I sqashed the bonnet down and remodelled nearly every panel when i rolled it in oct , the radiator survived untouched
