Its ridiculous how small the world is I never thought Lincoln's mate that bought Bills old car would be you, I now live only about 2kms from where you picked it up from. I thought you were living up north?! Im hoping to make it to SFS next year so may be able to catch up then...in the mean time, you need to post some pics of the car[;^)]

F6
Hey Phil & Steve, thought I should come out of hiding just had to wait until the BS settled. As you know Steve got himself a great little car. I missed it for a while then decided to buy a white FG F6. I really like the design of the engine in these so I reckon it's not a bad exchange for the Escort just needs a bigger turbo.
Steve let me know if you want to sell the bailey blow off valve. Phone and email details are changed.
Talk to you soon, hurry up with that car Phil.

Hi Tony,

Its amazing how small the world is!!!...15 years later and were still following progress on the same cars among a great community of people[:p] It is mind blowing that it is actually 15 years!!

I still remember Steve,Matt and Rich making the delivery all those years ago and have some vid of the maden voyage a few years later...some things never change, Im still finishing the car[:o)] I remember my Grandfather asking how long it would take to build...I replied with 6 months...he laughed!! That was 15 years ago!!

Cheers,

Phil.

Unfortunately not much to report at the moment[8~2]

The crank was checked for balance, was 'almost' perfect and is now perfect. It was balanced within the specs in the paperwork supplied with the crank which were 'automotive' industry tolerances, my friend being as fussy as he is takes things to aircraft spec which is basically perfect balance. The factory crank pulleys were suprisingly close to perfect but took some very minor trimming as was the alloy crank pulley. The factory flywheel was also pretty close but is now perfect. The Fidanza alloy flywheel hasnt been balanced yet as the centre bore was slightly undersize and wouldn't fit the crank so will go on the mill to be resized. With that done the bottom end will be ready to assemble. The end result gives every possible crank trigger combination prebalanced and interchangable if ever required, and 2 flywheel weight combinations, I will be running the alloy flywheel to start with, if it is to light for the engine combo, it's a simple case of gearbox R&R to change back to the factory flywheel. If my memory serves me correctly the alloy flywheel is almost exactly 1/2 the factory flywheel weight

Cheers,

Phil.

Im keen to do it all only once this time, although a mates engine which has just been finished and back in the car has developed a coolant/oil issue which we think at this stage is longstud/oring sealing related so focus is back to that until it is resolved
