Hi Phil,
Have been looking through your project and wondering what front struts you ended up using? Are they mk1 cortina or capri. Also what rated inserts did you use with your 400lb springs.
I'm doing similar conversion to mine, and have hit a hurdle with steering etc.
Originally wanted to do a rear mounted rack but it only ends up being 200mm wide for correct geometry. Did you use escort front rack?

Thanks Mate

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan,

I ended up changing back to Mk1 Cortina struts from Capri struts as the geometry wasn't right. I have had the Mk1 Cortina struts converted to the same spec as Grp4 Escort. The inserts are custom valved so I dont know what the rates are, they were set up by Paul Joyner at Heasmanns in Sydney. I used an Escort crossmember, rack and control arms then had made custom adapters to convert from the Mk1 Cortina struts to the Escort control arms. All works well

Its a bit slow of late...I've been making the AC wiring harness,it should be in and done this weekend[:p] The last of the welding will be done on the radiator this Saturday which will see it finally ready for painting...then its pretty much just the engine and trim to go

Hi Matt,

Its really very simple, Im using the interior fan +ve via a on/off switch to trigger the ac via an electronic thermistor from a CE Lancer. 2 relays, one for the compressor and one for the thermofan override. Thats basically it

Ok, this morning I had the last of the welding done on the radiator and the ac compressor bracket. The radiator can now be prepped for paint and the ac compressor bracket needs to be prepped for anodising. The worlds most expensive top radiator hose also needs to have the rest of the anodised colouring stripped then be polished
