I might get another set to look at once these go into the engine[(#)] The $$$ is very good against the pound at present...these cost just under $1000 landed so definately a good option considering Mahle were the same price a few months ago

Wow Phil those pistons look totally HORN! I assume they are manufactured by Cosworth? I'll understand if you don't want to give any secrets away about your engine build but are they a special design or what is the advantage of using them over the Mahle pistons? They sure look different to the Mahle pistons. Now you'll need to get onto a clear block so we can see them in your engine bay. I have to cast a vote for the new rocker cover now. Originally I thought nothing but the "original" Cosworth cam cover but, after visualising the new one, I have actually changed my opinion! Although I reckon it will confuse a lot of people . . . well only people not in the know; they will think it's some sort of jap motor! Can't wait for the engine build either! One last thing, I know a bloke who would be more than happy to offer his engine bay to use for running your new engine in, if you're interested![(#)][(#)]

Cheers Matt

Too nice to fit in the engine. You could put some windows in the block

As much as the old one is classic cosworth, the new style will match with the hidden wireing loom and cleaness of the rest of the engine bay and the clean lines of the car.
Car is comming along and looking absolutly awesome.[:p] Wish mine was progressing[8~2]

Thanks for the kind words guys[:p]

Matt, the pistons are made by Cosworth, they are their Std 4wd piston. The advantages over Mahle with these are the polished crown, valve reliefs, anti friction/oil retention coating, anti det bands on the first ring land and the expansion groove in the second ring land. Basically they have the latest technology built in. This is actully the 10th revision on piston released by Cosworth, they revise the pistons every couple of years

sorry for the late reply - new cover for sure. the old one is classic, but your car has moved on since then, and the new one looks 'tidier' ...

and this must be cover material - as this is the tidiest, and a much-loved cortina. Well done.
