LINCOLN
OLD!!!!!

I thought the small turbo ports were a lot smaller = larger porting bill and definately much harder on exhaust side as that is a hard to port even with standard head.

Also I thought the valve guides are different material - I imagine they will get removed for the porting but may influence decision.

What a decision to make both are good - did you mention you welded the small turbo head. What about thickness?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback..it all helps with the decision

Lincoln, I have heard the same rumours re the small turbo heads. I have checked the ports with a telescopic bore guage and they are identical to the large turbo heads. The guides are a much better material in the small turbo head and the guides in my head are barely worn, we may not even replace them. As an added bonus my small turbo head is virgin...never machined from new
