Phil, there are words to describe how that car looks but they would be sensored if used on this forum. You car (and Scoop's) are the best Mk 1's I've seen.

The car even looked sensational in the silver base coat.

Well done. I can't wait to see it back together.

Looks great Phil.

Those rear guards are fantastic. Very subtle indeed, you would never pick it if you didn't now.

well done.

What make are the rods?

Cheers Eric and Shaun

The car should be home either this afternoon or tomorrow morning so more pics to come[:p]

Shaun, the rods were custom made by Argo Engineering in Morpeth NSW. Not cheap but there is no grey area as far as strength and reliability are concerned They will quite possibly see 9000rpm in the new motor if it is still making power that high up. The old engine peaked at 6800rpm with stock cams and was limited to 7300rpm due to the hydralic lifters. Now they are gone the rev limit can be raised as necessary It all depends on how the engine behaves with the new cams, manifolds and port work[;^)]

Phil,

The new motor seeing 9000rpm with the cams and extra work will be one hell of a ride...

Cant wait to see the results..
