I much prefer the headrests on the local Scheels over the Pommie ones.  Wouldn't say no to a set of fishnet Recarros though!

"Kraut" not Pommie?    Funny, although I know they were designed in Germany, I still think of them as English cars, such is their enthusiasm for them.

Popular misconception. Very few English parts in the Mk2 Escort.
In some documentation referred to as Ford's first "world car". ie components were sourced from all 4 corners.

Hi All,
Just out of curiosity has this forum ever tried to work out how many 2/moredoor RS Escorts still exist in Australia< seeing how these are supposed to be becoming rare and valuable? I was a little amused that in the Unique cars magazine, using the guide in the rear of the magazine, a good condition RS is supposed to be worth $40,000.

If i only said I'll buy one back in the '90s. . Apparently i had the offer to buy the very RS which was behind the XCs in the 77 bathurst 1,2 form finish . Was owned by Keith at Gawler , North of adelaide for a piddly price of $3000 ! It was mainly a shell with some components .
At that time a lot of old touring cars were on sale for cheap as there was no class for them to race , ie redundanted .
Oh well !!
