Hi All
5 speed sierra box noisy in my mk1, (x-flow, standard tunnel) tried to take it out tonight, bloody hell what a mission! Im thinking remove engine mounts in the morn to drop whole lot down to get box out. Has anyone else got a better idea to this mission.
Clever me put the engine and box in together, and thought "oh yeah loads of room in there if i need to take it out"

Drop the engine crossmember using longer bolts, this will allow engine to drop enlough to get box out and back in. Don't forget to slide the steering coupling up and off the rack so the crossmember can come down same goes with anything else that will restrict downwards movement hoses cables wires exhaust etc.

Cheers

I have always found it easier to take the engine and box out as one unit from a manual tunnel car.

Good luck

Taking a T9 out with the engine results in a large pool of gear lube all over the shed floor....well mine does

That's where spare tailshaft yoke comes in handy.
