Gentlemen, your comments requested, in collecting my required Mk1 & Mk2 parts i have picked up 2 rear axles, brake plates included, a metal tag attached to the Diffs, indicates that 1 is an auto ratio, the other, a manual ratio, to removing the diff, can only be achieved by withdrawing to the rear. Measuring the axles appears to be the same as my existing axles, assorted spring leaves, also appear to be Escort,??? ... any comments welcome, thanks Geoff.

What are you asking exactly?

What ratio you should use???? That will depend on what you want form the car.

English axles, removed from the front, are generally easier to swap and change ratios.

hi Shaun, I have a mk2 auto, it is drivable, when the wiring is not finding another reason to giv me pain.
(working on that,)
also now, a running mk1 4 speed manual, due to the generosity of forum member, mexicomk1.

Back to the axles, i feel they are a ford item, 1. has the support bracket containing a bush that keeps a rod centred,

that connects the left and right wheel cylinders. 2. cutouts in the brake backing plates appear the same my escorts.

Which ford, that is the question,!! could be Anglia, Prefect, or other. I'm not a concourse person, i just like the sound

they make, people turn their heads, no doubt thinking, what was that,??

If concourse inclined, i'd be pleased to find another original part, makes you feel good, as well as havin fun.!!

cheers, Geoff

Post up a photo of it.  A picture tells a thousand words.

Cheers
