Can anyone tell me the specs of the original (1970) twin cam springs ? I am doing a resto and it looks like the car may have been in competition in the past, I dont know if what is there is std or not and I want to bring it back to showroom spec.
Thanks, Craig.

Not sure what the original spec was but off the shelf 2 litre springs will fit the Twin cam struts

Are they really the same though?? carry different part numbers to the MK1 capri springs. I'd be getting 1600 Capri coils

I'll eat my words here

Capri 1600, standard coil "KFFL13"
Escort 2L, low coil "KFFL13"

A Lotus twin cam engine would be lighter than a pinto, so the choice would be between the KFFL13 or the lower KFFL12

IIRC the twin cam escort used V6 Capri struts and rear brakes, I'm tipping V6 capri front springs is what you seek

John are V6 capri struts different to 4cyl capri?

ronsmallford
V6 and 4 cyl capri struts are the same

And this

"The only difference between the V6 & 1600 struts is the spring rate.
Everything else is identical. Heavier spring have no real advantage in a light
weight crossflow car, in fact they can make the car unstable and lift the front
wheel with up force, ie coming out of a bend or under heavy braking.

Hope
that makes sense and clears some things up"
