Hi Guys,

My next step is to replace the front brake lines with braided lines.

As I am also installing the Volvo calipers I want the lines to be longer so I can bolt them straight onto the calipers as per the pic.  (Cheers to RS2000).

My question is do I have to get a set of ADR Brake lines at over $200 or are the Aeroflow Lines on eBay  just as good.

From what I can see the only difference is they don't have a PVC coating and the ADR compliance obviously.  Their pressure ratings are the same.

I am building the car for track days so I'm not overly worried about the non ADR aspect but safety is of prime concern too.

What are everyone's opinions or where to go to get a better deal on the braided lines?

Cheers,

Matt

The nylon collar is there to prevent potential chaffing, then failure of the hose. From what I been told it was based on the recomendations of a government sponsored uni study. The study apparently could not actually induce a failure condition but said it 'may' still happen. I have never seen those whip collars on race car but most regular race cars get fully rebuilt more than biannually.

Hi Matt,

For $200 getting them made up will be easiest option as you'll know they're built to suit your setup.

Otherwise in regards to the Aeroflow....
It looks like its just the hose? What about fittings? What will final cost with fittings be?
A set of S/S Braided lines like Goodridge or Aeroquip from any reseller like Smcka would be cheaper and come with Plastic outer sheath.

Best starting point is to determine fitting sizes from from your inner fenders to the Volvo Calipers? For instance you may find the lines you need from possibly a 4wd to get extra length?
Eg I know you can get Land Rover Discovery lines in various brands in std or extended length cheap from UK.....might be a good starting point?

Cheers,
Rhys

Hey Rhys,

Fittings should be around the $70.00 mark so all up around $100.

Good idea on seeing if other cars lines will suit.

Cheers

Matt
