Hi,
A mate has this carb laying around, and I'm welcome to it if it'll suit my 1600 crossflow.  I thought it looked like a Weber 32/36, but it clearly as Holley cast in to it.

First question is: what model is it?
Second question is: With a cleanup and rebuild would it be an upgrade from my standard single barrel Ford item?
I realise there's a few bits missing, but it'll be easier to figure out exactly what bit I'll need when I know what it is exactly!
I am quite new to the upgrading and tuning side of engines, so please forgive a newbie!

i got one of those lying around i think it's a holley 180 or something let me know if you need another

Looks like a Holley 5200 series, which is basically a Weber 32/36 clone, and hence should work nicely on a 1600.

Cheers guys - I'll have a look for some info on those numbers.  From Googling them quickly they seem like the same thing - if this thing is a clone of a Weber 32/36 I wonder if they use the same parts.  Ideas?
 
I forgot to mention before - on the side of the barrels, one has "26" stamped into it, and the other "27".  I'm thinking that's the diameter.

It's a licensed Weber 32/36 copy, so I expect parts are completely interchangeable.  The 26 and 27 refer to the venturi size in mm, and like it's Italian cousin, it has 32 and 36mm throttle bores.  You'll have either green or brass-coloured main jets though; the former being used until 1975, which are marked for their diameter, whereas the latter are post-75 and marked for flow rate.  

I am sure i had one of these which came of a spare motor and i wanted to use some parts for my 32/36 weber, the parts are quite different from what i remember, main jets and venturis anyway

I used to run one of those on my warm 1600. Its a 180 holley. I made an adapter and fitted it to the standard manifold.

Just in case anyone reading this thread is confused, the Holley 180, as they are often referred to here in Au, is the same as the 5200 series, which is Holley's name for the 3 different variants (i.e. 5200, 5210, 5220).
