Got the wheel issues sorted now.  I got a 2nd hand set of 175 60 R13 Advan A050's which weren't too hard to get on the 7" rims.  They don't seem to hit too which is great.

I have the Winton 6 Hour Relay this weekend so I'm all ready to go.

Few pics.

I'm so glad you got to keep those Rebels, they look spot on.

Hey Matt,

love the Rebels they look great. Will be interesting to see if the 175's are enough for you though. I know I noticed quite a bit of difference in turn in between 175s and 205s on the track.

Extra rear grip is always handy too.

Hi Guys,

Yes, to say I am happy they fit is an understatement.

Rhys, I am just running a standard engine at the moment so rear grip or lack there of isn't much of an issue at the moment but when the race engine is finished then I may need wider tyres.  Time will tell.

Cheers,

Matt

So we had the Winton 6 Hour event last weekend and we had 5 cars from the club.  3 Mk1's, My MK2 & a 323 BMW.  We all went well on the Sat but Sunday morning the nylon spacer / bush in my gearshift level crapped itself and i was without a spare.  We rang 20 local wrecker within a 200km radius to no avail.  We then had a fried who was going to drive up for me but I ended up sourcing one from a club member who lives 20mins down the road.  I lost about 2hrs but in the end I was still able to complete 30 or so laps.

It was an absolute blast and I got faster as the day went on too.

Time for a rose joint shifter.
Good to see you are still having fun with it.

I picked up a Celica 5 Speed box to go with my Dellow B/Housing.  I also am picking up a tailshaft from a RT104 Corona which is the correct length and you just need to change over the rear uni joint flange dealie which is the same size as that of an Escort.

I just need a clutch set up now and speedo cable

what?
Curious, Why did you choose the celica over a type 9?

Good question, they are a bit stronger but heavier than a type 9 but mainly as reverse is right and down as opposed to left and up and as I have a less than perfect left arm I find it much easier.

I also had a MK1 RS2000 replica with one in it and I just loved it.

I'll get getting a quick shift kit too.

I have an auto shell so it'll fit no dramas.

Cheers,

Matt
