Picked up a new racing seat today too.  My Corbeau seat is built for the larger gentlemen and i was sliding around a fair bit so when this seat came up and I jumped at it.

It came with a 5 point harness.  I know you get an extra 5 years from date of expiry but can anyone tell me the date according to the pic below.

Cheers

Hey Matt your build is awesome, such a smart looking car. Under a heavy foot do you get a lot of rw wheel spin? I'm trying to figure out what power i should aim at running for a non lethal rallycross/track car... 200hp?

Hey Rich, Thanks for the kind comments.  The car looks great from around 10 feet but is a track car so I'd rather spend money on making it go and stop faster than looks.

I'm only running a standard engine at the moment but I am having a race engine built with hopefully around 120 rwkw so there fore not a lot of wheel spin at the moment.

For your engine first thing to do is work out a budget and then have a chat to a few engine builders and discuss what you'd get for your money.  As to a 200hp Pinto, there are very very few of these around as you have to really know what your are doing to get this level of power from them and you wouldn't expect any change from $10k.

If you were to rebore your current engine block, up the compression to 10.5 and fit larger pistons then ported the head a little and ran a decent cam you'd probably get around the 150 mark with twin carbs which would still be a lot of fun.

Cheers

Hey Rich,

There are quite a few cars getting around with the SR20 DET and they are pretty crazy.  My daily is a worked S15 200sx with around 300kw so if you put that in the Escort  it would be nuts

Good luck

I wanna see graphs for the s15, i call 200 max, and it still sounds like a tractor :)

Don't be a hater Mish!

This was the first session after the work had been done and we maxed the standard injectors and fuel pump.  Can't really remember what it makes now.  I have assumed a power loss of 30% for power train so my estimate of 300kw (Flywheel) I believe is accurate although academic as I don't know how accurate the dyno dealie is nor do I really care.

Car goes fine for my liking and not really interested in all out power.

Agree it is not the best sounding SR20 out there though.

Cheers

Sorry for the ****ty copy.

HAHAHA Hook line and sinker,

dont think 30% sounds right id say more in the relms of 15% or less as its a fairly modern driveline with no real heavy components to spin.
Only way a SR sounds good is with a atmo wastegate and bouncing off the limiter, or else they all sound like tractors.

PS.. that power in a escort is nuts ;)
