That's a great looking radio.  Was that model fitted to Mk2s too?

Not sure what this radio was originally out of.
I thought the RS had a FM radio, but this will do the job for now.
My car still only had a single speaker under the dash.

From what I have gleaned from old ads and catalogues an AM push button radio came standard in the RS2000 but an "AM Radio/Stereo Cassette" was available as an option.

Yeah that would be right.
Any idea what the speaker configuration would have been with the cassette player?

Until I looked into it recently, I didn't even know a stereo cassette was an option.  I wouldn't be surprised if it just fed into the center speaker though, which makes the "stereo" part rather redundant.  I doubt many were fitted to Escorts, as they were optional even on LTDs back in the day.

This is a page straight out of the 1980 Escort operators manual.
Should help with identifying what radios where fitted standard.
Mine is the one on the right.
