Hey guys just put a tacho cluster in my 78 escort since the old one didn't have the tacho as its currenty auto, Just wondering if all the orginal tachos are slow. Like ill rev it and hold the revs and the tacho will slowly go up to it, like its not very responsive. I dont really mind it but is there a way to make it more responsive?

Hi Brandon,

Obviously checking all the connections from the coil to the dash is a good start.

Failing that make sure the tacho needle is pushed on tight to the spindle as mine was not wotking at all and I reckon I spent about 5 hours checking evrything before I realised the needle was just loose.

It's sometimes the easiest fixes are done last.
