Hi Guys
Has anyone tried the Ryco A88 in an original air filter.  Its only 3mm higher than the A61 but I am wondering if 3mm is going to be 3mm too much.  Other than that, ID is the same and OD is 1mm smaller which wont matter.  I would be surprised if 3mm mattered but thought I would ask.  Thanks.

From memory, using the A88 would mean the 2 bolts holding top lid down would need to be left 3mm of thread loose, as they normally bear down all the way "home" and tighten themselves at the end of travel. Not acceptable.
The problem can be solved by adding 3mm Spacer or washers to the 2 hold down bolts threads and all will be well, otherwise the filter will be crushed/distorted with the result that dirty air might "slip past" where sealing is compromised.

So I gave the Wesfil WA087 a try.  It fits really snug but the extra 2mm in height is noticeable if you look really close, but would not affect performance.  The A88 would be 1mm higher.  Wesfil also have the WA350 which is same height as the A61 but its ID is larger so it may not be as snug.  I will give it a try next time but for now at $14 I'm happy with the WA087.

For those in WA, Filter Discounters had the best price.
