Has anyone ever seen a mk1/Volvo diff combination WITHOUT flared guards? Can it be done through offsets and rolled guards?
English diff about 1340mm the Volvos 1400mm so 30mm each side is a big ask I know, but I'm not a big fan of bubble arched mk1's.

You would need rims with the correct offset to counter act. I suspect a modern day FWD rim would work well on the rear?

Agreed, you would also need to work around the size of the break callipers and the break cylinder size

Cool at least it may be possible, the 200 series of Volvos I think had 14's they are five stud 108pcd witch is same as mondeo. So the next question is, is it possible to convert the front to five stud 108pcd?   She's got mk2 2ltr front struts on her, will mondeo ones fit?
Thanks guysBrad

You can get them redrilled, but you would have to get the disc`s machined too (and every time you replace them). Personally i would get the mags drilled so they are a dual fit, makes things easier in the long run

You would require spaces on the front to stop the dish of the rim fouling on the strut.

Thanks guys it all gives me lots to think about as far as what direction I want to take, the pros and cons of the two different ideas I have are about 50/50. The joys of classic resto's.

What about a ford courier or mazda bravo diff. . I've got a 96 4x4 and it's very close in width... Plenty ratios and some lsd as well.
Someone did this swap ages ago on here..

Funny you should say that cause that's the other option I've been looking at. The problem is I want black sunraysia's for my wheel choice to go with the colour I want to use and I would also like disc brakes for the rear, hence the Volvo diff option its much cheaper than converting drums to disc on the b2000 diff I've been looking at, so as it stands I either go with the b2000, no disc's, no bubble arches and I get my sunnies or Volvo with disc's, bubbles and sunnies or Volvo no bubbles and no sunnies.
