Love the build! Just looking for some info on the rear end, what diff and ratio you're using and if you have modified the rear rubs to get the ride height with those tyres.

the diff is a bw 78 found in  ea to el falcons through to vn to vr commodore or r31 skylines,
main reason we used a the later  falcon housing  is it was a ute diff so no brackets to cut off  apart from the  2 leaf pads, and also the bigger 78 diff has a drain  plug in the rear off the diff which makes doing an oil change easy instead of breaking the seal on the rear cover plate  like  the smaller bw 75s found in earlier holdens and skylines,
it has 28 spline moser axles from USA rather than cut and repslined factory axles ,its quite a strong little unit.

diff ratio is 3.7  its narrowed around 55 mm over factory escort from memory, rims are 15x7 with 4.25 back space.
current tyres are some old monarchs which are 225/50/15 but they measure 240mm wide with the tape and nearly 24.5 inches dia.
some  work was done to the inner wheel arch mainly the front inner wheel radius to enable them to fit also the outer lip has been rolled slightly. as it still runs mk1 leaf springs they are narrower than mk2  and it is possible to modify the inner tub for clearance before the tyre will hit the leaf springs , quite often on some other models the leafs have to be relocated inboard before its even worth modifying the inner tub at all.

some handy calculators on the above link which can help pick out a gear ratio

gear calculator for my combo with 24.5 tyres and 3.7 gears the car is doing 3155rpm at 100 km/h, and 1900 rpm in fourth at 60km/h  which is pretty close to what we logged with revs from the tacho against the gps , 5 speed would change things quite a bit.

A pic of the diff . Its a falcon bw 78 with 4 pinion lsd and moser billet axles. I have used radius rods (anti tramp 2 link set up) from diff to chassis and it has zero axle tramp.

Last update the burtons order has shown up and I have a full set off oversize valves arp head stud kit another set off valve springs.am going to do a modified cylinder head and do some more testing to see if we can improve on the 160 kw figure by getting more flow out of the cylinder head before screwing any more boost into the poor little thing!! Ill post results with the modified cylinder head to see if there is any gains with a better flowing head.
Have also added a K&N air filter and have tried to direct the air filter inlet away from the hot air from radiator.

Is that Monza Red?

colour is vermillion red,
changes alot on an overcast day its a darker red then  in sunlight its quite bright with very  slight orange tinge,
its not  the vermillion fire orangey/red colour that the gt falcons had tho.
