not that the camera can justify the true noise, always sounds different  on camera but here is a link of the dyno vid.

Boost has been turned up to Around 1 bar
Ready for another squirt on the dyno.

My mate filmed the boost gauge while trying to keep steady which is not always easy!haha .response is great with the new setup

Turbo's being in series with the exhaust system act as a muffler. It would be nice if they could sound like webers ;)

I disagree. in person they sound better.
Nothing better than nice quiet ish cruising then when that boost comes in and that gate opens. It soon out does the webber roar not to mention more power easily.

Agree with your comment on a low boost internal gate setup ( like a stock saloon) the noise is just.not there. Trust me in person they sound great in anger.plenty off rb or 2j powered vehicles out there that sound pretty dam good once they start making boost snd a few revs. The link from dyno was filmed with a go pro half way down the workshop and it just doesn't capture the roar the engine makes when the screamer opens. The in car one filmed with mobile phone gives a bit better idea but still nothing like the real thing.

And yes i do love the induction sound from webbers or throttle bodies. But why would you bother in a performance per dollar scale these days. Unless its for a certain class off racing .

Still not webbers but try this one.
Bit more boost makes a bit more noise
It also made 159.9 kw @ wheels after the boost change.

Currently still happy with the 160 kw figure. I think i can get to the 178kw mark like i achieved last time i still 3 psi short on boost from what it took on the last engine to put down 178kws.

Before i ram anymore boost into it im going to try a modified cylinder head and see if we can get some more out of the pinto.

Have just done a burtons order and have some new big inlet and exhaust valves on the way. Combined with some hand porting , we should have a better flowing cylinder going on it shortly.
Will post an update as we progress a bit more and some more dyno testing.

I would like to give it a run at the track (1/4) just for fun at current power level. For us that is a long haul as we dont currently have a 1/4 to race at in adelaide.

Have driven the car to victor harbour and return last weekend,
first time have driven it on the highway with 100km/h cruise speed  was a little concerned if it would be happy sitting at the speed on the highway only having the 4 speed,

couldnt ask for a better cruise car, we cruised at 100km/h (speed limit for highway) for the entire trip even overtook some late model cars that were failing to atleast do the speed limit.

largish dia tyres (24inch dia 225/50/15s) it was quite comfortable on the highway speed limit engine was doing  just over 3000rpm, water temp was 88 deg and down to 86 on some of the downhill runs. 150 km return trip no problem and only used 1/4 of a tank. couldn't be happier with the amount of use the car is good for.
