I Have a MK2 with a Black top 1.8L Zetec and a T9 5spd whith a Escort clutch on a Zetec fly wheel which is redrilled for Escort chluch (RetroFord) which has been running in my car for about 2 years.
A few months ago I started having trouble getting it in gear and changing while driving. I adjusted the clutch cable and all was good for a week then back to the same trouble. I adjusted the clutch cable again and all good once again. A week or so later back to the same. I repeated this a few times but last time it did not come good and to change gears some times it is easy and other times i have to stop the engine to get it in gear. On the last adjustment I tried to change gears and bent my clutch pedal
Is likely to be a clutch problem or the gearbox?
Before this started a few months ago I had no previous trouble with it. I was thinking it might be the fingers on the pressure plate but would love some advice before I order a new clutch.
