decided to stick with the ol M16 caliper for my road going 'scort. I'm looking for a good pad which still performs well cold as this escort is going to be purely for the road. I'm a bit lost in the world of pads at this point, some names I've heard are the
 
EBC yellow stuff
EBC green stuff
Bendix Ultimate
Mintex
 
Has anyone had experience with these? Any recommendations?

I wouldnt use ANY of those options!
 
Bendix General CT will do everything you need without chewing the rotors to bits or leaving your wheels filthy.  They will be cheaper than all of those you mentioned too.
 
Assuming you have a MK2 DB625GCT is what you need.

All those pads seem like overkill for a road going car maybe.  They are mostly road/track pads.
 
As Gdub said, something that'll work well from cold would be ideal.
 
I just ordered some QFM A1RM's which are similar ones to your list above but at $100 a set you can get much cheaper for a road car.

Assuming you have a MK2 DB625GCT is what you need.

Using these on the RS2000 and the thing stops on a dime hot or cold, good pedal feel and no brake fade experienced even when driven 'spiritedly'

Metric Escorts (ie Mk2); P16 was imperial (Early Cortina, Mk1 Escorts, MK1 Capri, etc)

I ended up buying in a set of mintex pads from the UK. They are a standard road compound so nothing wild!
 
I have come across bendix pads locally and I also found the QFM A1RMs from Sydney race brakes, but for the difference in price (less than $60 delivered for the mintex to min $98 for the bendix and $120 something for the QFMs, I just couldn't say no!
 
THanks once again for the tips, ill keep the bendix and QFMs in mind for the next set... As Im totally rehauling brakes this time round I wanted to keep each individual cost component as low as possible - otherwise I may as well go and import some wilwoods!

Which Mintex ones were they?

 
I think the only draw back you may find on the Mintex is they will make your wheels filthy because of the compounds used in euro pads. If you can live with that they will be good. Having said that most QFM, Ferodo etc pads are no different in that respect.

im not sure what compound the pads are. I asked the ebay seller and he just said they are a normal road compound. Once I get em I can report on the exact model # and their performance!

Flighter, how did you end up fitting with those M shaped pin springs? I've got soem coming and am also confused as to how they fit!
