Howdy y'all!
I've managed to find a good condition 32/36DGV carb for my van, but before I fit it I need some advice on the accelerator cable linkage.
This is what the van came fitted with (excuse the rubber bands - the spring decided to leave a while back, have now got another one):

The end of the cable sheath isn't in line with the direction it pulls the link - and sticks a bit sometimes.  Could someone post a pic of the proper linkage for this manifold and (soon to be) 32/36?
Cheers!
Adam

Adam that set up is all ass about face, needs to pull from the other side using a nice short cable.

Will dig up a picture for you.

Cheers guys - I thought that what is fitted was wrong!!  The replacement cables I've seen on Burtons and SMCKA look nothing like this one.
If anyone knows where to get a proper one that would be top!

How did you go with that Ghia linkage Mk1 Lotus?  Or does anyone else have one to sell me?

I adapted that original linkage. I think I have photos somewhere.....
I made a base plate to move the bracket towards the drivers side gaurd. Then made another hole on the bracket lower down so everything was at the right angle.
This was all done with no skill and basic hand tools.

Looks to me like the cable and spring are arse about, if you swap them around that set up should work unless someone has put an incorrect cable in there which is too long and thats why its been set up like that to compensate for the extra length

Yeah, the cable does seem quite long - it heads off towards the passenger side before making a large loop over the top of the engine, then finally going through the firewall to the pedal.  The adjustment fitting in the picture won't go into the other position on the bracket because the sleeving is too long (not enough adjustment).  The fitting on to the pedal seems bodged, so I'm thinking I might cut it off and recrimp an end onto it so the cable sheath can go onto the other hole, and see if it works.  If it doesn't I'll just buy another cable!
