Well update for those who are interested.
I now have my new cam, hardened pushrods, double valve springs, big end and main bearings and molly rings, Getting the crank big ends reground this week and the heads have been ported, I have to polish them yet and then they are in for reassembly.Hope to have it all back together in the next couple of weeks.
I have got to, and cut all the engine original mounts off the cross member and made up some new ones to fit on EL falcon mounts. These should be strong enough and are fully captive. I have the engine and gear box sitting in the shell where i want them so i can finish off the motor mounts.
Then onto the firewall and trans tunnel. I will post some pics of the mounts when finished. Looking very nice, PROGRESS[%][%][:x)][:x)][:x)]

The mounts are only tacked and not finiched yet but it is looking good. I have turned the crossmember around and I am going to get a power steering rack from a ford Corsair and fit it on. it is 2 1/2 turns lock to lock. It has the right amount of thro and body and just needs the rods shortened and re-threded for my tie rod ends. I will be fitting a suport bearing at the end of the steering column and run uni's down to the steering rack.

I have mounted the motor a fair way back but because i had to mod the fire wall and tunnel any way it is tight but will fit realy nicely.

Looks very nice mate. Dont worry once you get 250rwkw you will want more. You can never have enough power. :)

That is so very true. I will only have about the 210kw for starters. Then ill be insearch for more.[:p][:p][:p][:p]
Well i got side tracked today. Sick fo the wheels hitting on the floor pan and guard when hard on the brakes and turning slightly.[:(!] So I whiped up the start of a AntiDive kit with 13mm of caster built in. 13mm is a lot but because all the guards and front nose cone have been modded i should be able to get away with that much.
Just playing around but i think dropping the sway bar 50mm might be a bit much. Ill have to have a good look at the situation on sunday.

Well i jacked the car up and with the sway bar dropped 50mm the bar is still running down 10mm from the front mounts to the anchor point in the lower control arm. It make heaps of difference under brakes. Only went for test up the road.
I am about to take it for a good flex to see what effect the extra caster (13mm forward) and antidive has on handeling. looks good all painted up.

Well it turns in much better with castor. I can actually see the castor now. I have gone from toe out to a fair bit of toe in so i will have to get that done properly and get the camber done also. I have removed my second, 18mm sway bar and it feels more stable in corners now with less body role[x2x], maybe im just imagineing things there but it feels a lot better. Dives very little under brakes and has lots less under steer in corners. im very happy with the resalts.[:x)][:p]
Onto the next job on the list.[%][%]

some awsome bodywork goin on there, can i offer my personal opionion and say perhaps a different colour to white? white is so common and dont feel like will highlight all that time you hav spent on the body. what about somethin with a bit of depth? hot house green or sumthin? or...pink [:X]haha jks. good work tho. how did / do you get 17's through regency?

I reckon the red off the Mazda 3 would look great on an RS.
It's sort of a dark red, with a light red pearl through it, looks stunning. Along with some shiny black bumpers, grille, and decals it'd look awesome.

Thanks guys. Its been a lot of hard, time consuming work i can tell you.
I havent got anything engerneered yet as it is still rego'd as a 2L. If i get pulled up im screwed.[xo][8~2]
I am running 16x7.5's at the moment but the back tyres are about bald so i mite have to swap back to the 17x8's again soon.
Part of the reason why i was going white was so i dont draw so much attention, I love RS's in white and it doesnt stand out so much.[%][%][%] I was thinking phantom purple but i think i will do my other RS that color. It should be ready for painting soon to i think.

but whats the point on doing such massive body mods when you are trying to keep a low profile? i dont understand.. looks good but

I only done the guards because they were already butchered with flares and figured while i was re-doing them why not make it to i can get it low on 17" rims. For people to look at, it looks a lot tuffer than a standard RS even thou they may not be able to work out why. If you paint a car up, people expect it to be good and go well. If it blends in it comes up and bites them in the bum
