Nice.
Great to see someone doing something different. Always takes big balls to pioneer something and do it yourself.
Hope that it works out for you.

Doing the guards is a bit of a job. It took about 4 months to decide how to do it and about 1 1/2 days to get them all tacked on. I still have to finish welding them, once i am happy that they are right. Then pannel beat out any warping of the sheet metal from the welding and then smooth it all out with body filler. Im having a rapid learning curve about body work.

I have Also raised the back wheel arches 45mm and getting four link rear fitted in. Looks Awesome sitting nice and low. I have 235-40-17 tyres on it now also, instead of 45 profile.

Well I drove it out of the garage today for the first time with the new rear end.[:x)] (no rear springs or shocks thou) Im very happy with my efforts so far. I have to make the coil over turrets and the inner guards and the rear end is complete.
Then onto the front end with the new motor, gear box and powersteering. Here are some pics for any one thats interested.

Im a real fan of your car!! Looks absoloutly great!! Just wondering, what sort of figures hav u spent to get it this far, because i wouldnt mind using the same engine as u in my 2dr. I want to make it a track car, going to do all the body work and suspension first but then i didnt know what sort of engine to use, but i knu i wanted somethin with a bit of torque for hillclimbs etc. Going to use something similar in the rear but i'm thinkin hilux diff with a 5link, watts linkage etc, then a coilover conversion on the front with 300mm rotors and ap racing 4pots, then 270mm rotors with wilwood 4pots on the rear. Fully seam welded and welded in 4130cr-mo full cage. At the moment just what i want to do to the car without the engine i rekon im lookin at the better half of 10grand..... Just interested in what youve spent because your car is at the stage i would love mine to be......
