The sump looks lower than it is. It is actually about 10mm higher than the bellhousing and gearbox crossmember and only 15mm lower than the motor crossmember. It sits at about 150mm from the ground,( I think)

Very very freaken pissed off[:(!][:(!][:(!]
All in, spent hours gettign everthing sorted and hooked up and decided to test the starter, Wont engage with the fly wheel. freak. I have since taken everything apart again and it is looking like Castlemain rod shop have supplied the wrong bell housing/ flywheel combonation and the starter doesnt line up with the ring gear.
I am yet to remove the starter or motor from the car but that is next, so i can have a good look. And to make matters worse thay are not going to be open untill late next week before i can abuse the poo poo out of them for it.
Now this will mean i will ahve to sorce a clevland fly wheel, get the ballencer weight machined out of it, get it reballenced with my clutch assembaly fitted, get it re-dowel to the crank and then be able to re fit it. Then it will be another full day job fitting it all back into the car jsut to be at the stage that i should have been at by lunch time yesterday. freak i am so PISSED OFF[:(!][:(!][:(!].
I am so sick of incompidant people. These people that are ment to know what they are doing, do it for a living, charge good money to do it, and then i have to re-do the thing my self to make it all work. Almost everything i have had done by people, i have had to redo myself. Sorry i just had to let it out as this may mean i wont make it to SFS with the car again.[8~2][8~2]
I am going to start the motor out of the car this time as i have now finnished the headers and most other bits to do with the engine. I hope to have it sorted again in another 2 weeks adn be back to where i started.[B)]

mate. sorry to hear this.its a bad feeling when poo poo like this happens after all that was involved in just the flywheel and starter assembly to get this far. and then to have it sitting in the body, can you modify the starter gear shaft or throw out instead of changing the and machining up the fly wheel and all the other poo poo that goes with it.
The car looks awesome in the last photo knowing what engine is in it makes it look even better for some reason.great fabrication skills too.
It really is a credit to you

I will just start again and get it right this time and check everything myself and not trust any one else to get it right. No point trying to "re-invent the wheel" just for the sake of the wrong flywheel. Its only money.[B)][B)][8~2]
On the up side,
I have totaly finished my headers, fitted O2 sensor sockets and painted them in matt alloy hi temp paint. All the Tig welds are a little rough (once again, getting a qulified welder to do the job) but it has come up quite good i think. I will post pictures later.
I have also made up most of the high presure line for the steering rack while it has been all out again.
So i am getting closer any way, despite the major set back.[B)]
MR mk2, I will be lifting the sump about 20mm at the front and about 10mm at the rear to gain a little bit more clearance. As it is it has the wrong angle and hangs lower at the front, but that can be fixed later.

i bought a starter for my f100 recently ( cleveland ) the mob told me there are two types now. manuals had to have a spacer, and you can buy a starter with a different pinion depth to not use the spacer. maybe you need an auto starter ? they have a deeper pinion.

Well CRS did infact send me the wrong flywheel/bellhousing combonation. The Windsor flywheel that cost me $400. plus $388 to get the counter ballence wieght machined off, dowled and ballenced and bolts made up to suit is good for a boat anchor[8~2][8~2]. What a waist fo $788.00 because of their mistake. Lesson Learned. Always cheack everything yourself and take nothing for granted.[xo][:(!][:(!][8~2]
Well now, I have ordered an orignal fly wheel from the states as it is the same dialmter as a cleavland fly wheel and suits the bell housing i have made everything to fit around so i am back under way, AGAIN.[B)]
I bolted the flex plate on wich came with the engine and refitted the belhousing (no gearbox) re-assembled everything out of the car.

With the headers altered and colectors re-welded and all painted up it came up a treat in the end.[:p]
The best thing is, I have hooked up all the wires, checked that there was spark and it was at the right time added fuel and away it went. So it is now running.[:p][:p][:p][:x)]
The frustrating thing is that i would have been here on boxing day if i had of had the right flywheel. Oh well, atleast it is going now and i have learned my lesson.[%]
This is how the headers have come up.[:u]

I am going to attach a radiator today and make sure it is all running how it should, then onto one of the last jobs that needs doing before SFS, make up the brake peddle box while i wait for the last lot of parts to arive from the states. I might make it yet, Maybe.[:p]
