Would someone please be able to tell me the fully extended and full closed lengths of Mk1 Escort rear shock absorbers?

I am trying to determine if they will be suitable for a conversion from the lever arm setup to telescopic shock on my 105E Anglia.

Thanks in advance.

Eye to eye is about 400 open and 280 closed.
That is for the early 45 deg Bilsteins.

Thanks Mickas, that is not as much travel as I thought it would be...

The Distance between the bump stop and the body on my Anglia is about 170 - 180mm when the axle is at full droop (car jacked up allowing the diff to drop).

Should I be bothered that an Escort shock if fitted to ensure the shock doesn't bottom out before the bump stop is hit, that the shock would then limit the full axle drop?

Not sure where I will get a short enough shock with long enough travel, I would think they don't exist...

I would be more worried about the shock bottoming out before it hits the bumps stop. Forget about the length of droop. Your better off setting the suspension up at ride height and having the shock working half way.

Milton Race Preparations have a well engineered kit for this conversion. They use Gaz shocks and requires little modification. All bolt on.

Would these be any use? They are coilover but might be useful for future upgrades.
1" open length, 8" closed with 3" total stroke. Fitted with a bump stop which reduces stroke to 2" working.

Yes I have done some research at 105Speed and found out that the Milton kit uses a MK1 Escort shock. I will call Miltons shortly to order the weld on kit but with out the GAZ shocks, I will buy some locally.
