Hey guys just wondering, iv got an oil catch can to go in, so the hose from the pcv valve and rocker cover go to it. then that leaves me with just the brake booster hose going to a 3 peice thingo that screws into the manifold. iv already got a hose on one with a screw in it and i dont want to do that with the pcv hose either, so i have this grub screw out of another manifold that fits. But that means the brake booster hose has no where to go. I dont know much about the brake boosters, sooo... is it a must have that the hose goes into the manifold or can i put a breather on it? Orr? Cause i want it to be tidy, If not ill just have to buy a L peice to go into the manifold and just have the brake booster hose going onto that.

Sorry if i dont make sense or if its a dumb question, Still leaning heaps.

Cheers, Brandon.

Yep the booster will not work unless it's plumbed in to the manifold unfortunately.

Alternatively you can spend lots of money and get a Wilwood style pedal box which removes the need for the big booster in the engine bay. An L-piece is cheaper and easier though hahahaha. I think my pedal box cost $700 or so...

I would love that but I heard bias pedal boxes are illegal in qld? Mmm that means I'd be able to put twin 40s in :0 hahah I wish.

I believe anything to do with removing a brake booster is illegal up here in QLD [8~2]

I'm guessing you've got a Kent motor? You can still have your dream of twin 40s, VH Valiant (I believe - can't remember, been out of the Escort game for a few years now!) brake booster is commonly remote mounted up under the dash in Escorts.

I can't see why it wouldn't be legal as you still run boosted brakes, plus this booster is better than the factory booster.

From the top of my head here is what I remember, this may or may not be accurate, as I said I've been out of Escortopia for a few years and have been dealing with rad Japanese technology for a while now...

VH-44 is the booster (made by PBR from memory?), essentially all it does is eliminates the big bracket that the booster and master cylinder mount to, and it is mounted under the dash, so that you only have the master cylinder and the reservoir poking through the firewall in to the engine bay. I'm not too sure what happens with regards to brackets, brake lines and the big bar that is activated by the movement of the brake pedal to push the master cylinder, you may need to either make something for that/have it made, or there might be an actual VH-44 conversion kit for Escorts available...I never looked too far in to it, instead I went straight for the rad pedal box.

Not sure on pricing of the booster, but repro parts are normally not cheap unfortunately.

This Datsun has a remote mounted booster.

Hope I've been of some assistance
