Can some one give me info on poly windows?
Any things to look out for?
Is it better to bond them in or use rubbers?
Any disadvantages?
And what grade or thickness to use?

Cheers

sorry to Hi Jack your post but also does anyone know if ya can get poly windows that replace the standard windows so you can still wind them up and down but save weight?

I use polycarbonate for signs at work. I recently made a windscreen for a friends drag car & it cracked. Apparently there are different grades of polycarbonate & Im in the process of finding out which type it is. That is one thing I've found out the hard way.

Thanks for the info, I think I will making my own set. Im not sure how the rear window will turn out as I dont have the ability to vaccum form one. I will be using 3mm polycarbonate. I just have to decide what to do with the front door windows, whether to just replace the original glass or possibly fixed windows with little sliders.

The bought kits have either a formed rear window or a flat one. Have not seen either.

I had poly windows in a road/rally MK2 years ago and they were very difficult to see out of in the wet and dark, the smallest scratches would reflect the lights from on comming cars and street lighting across the whole surface. Maybe they have improved the mix by now.
