hey guys, I was just driving around and everythig was working and then next minute my idicators werent working, put my hazards on and they didn't work either. Pulled over and put my idicators on and looked around the car and they didn't work on the outside, nor did the hazards, now my main question is where to start looking? Iv looked at the fuzes and there all good. I can't here the relay when I turn the hazards or indicators on. So do I start at the switch or the bulb or? Need to get them going again ASAP.

Cheers.

Replace your flasher unit under the drivers side dash.

Check power at the flasher first.

Hey guys, I just looked over everything, the indicator stalk, harzard switch, power the the wires and what not before I spent any money, and it ended up being the flasher relay thingo. The old one worked when I took it of and banged it on my knee but didn't work for long so I just bought a new one and it works like a charm :) cheers.

I would've said that too Mickas but thought seeing as it worked then all of a sudden stopped it would be the unit. Otherwise yep that's a nice place to start :-)

Could have been a wiring thing... I  have seen some weird things over the years...

Yeah. Me too. Escorts have a weird setup. I just re-wired mine. Things need to be plugged in to make it work etc. Weird.

How hard was it to re wire the whole car? Not to worried about price on wire, plugs, solder and why ever else but what things did yuu run into and how hard was it? And time?

Cheers.

Hahahaha yes they do! Clearly Lucas Electrics didn't think of that.

haha. Yeah I've re-read that and realized it could be taken the wrong way. What I was referring to was needing to plug in the small hazard wires to make the indicators work, things like that, that aren't related.

WRT wiring, now I know what to do I would be quicker and could do it cheaper. Having said that I used an old 1.6L and modified that. I've run a heap of relays all mounted neatly in a hidden block and taken power taps from the starter. Replaced a lot of existing wiring, added a heap more and now I have just one loom neatly hidden throughout the car and engine bay. What cost me the most where the fittings. Narva etc were an absolute fortune per plug etc! But it's all come out schmick now.
