Hi team,

Whist I keep acquiring bits for the retore I have a few questions that I need help with please :)

Roof lining;
Can I source this locally in OEM spec? Mine is the off-white crater style

Rear disc conversion;
Can anyone recommended a kit out there? I really want to do this.

Type of Diff;
What diff was used in the OZ V6? I'm looking for service parts

Altenator;
Do I buy a new one? Seems cheaper than trying to reco mine.

Clutch;
What is recommended?

Thnks heaps guys!!!

old capri v6
I bought a new alternator from ebay rather than refurbish my old one, it not "exactly" the same but it looks great and works.
Tip (if you buy a new one), clean the alloy to remove any oils (mask the plastic), then paint it with "clear VHT paint", couple of light coats and it will look new for years. ( problem is it makes everything else look old in your engine bay) I bought a head lining in melbourne about 7 years ago, I think "classic motor trimmers". It fitted pretty good and looks Ok compared to the original. New Original clutch pressure and clutch plate in mine, shop around and you can save some money.

old capri v6
Was "supertrim" in coburg, not "classic motor trimmers"
Have a look at his site, he might be able to make one.

Paul Dunstan from this site does a rear disc conversion using r31 calipers on the escort, im sure it could be applied to the capri

Maybe Contact him and go from there

I recently tried to find some R31 Calipers for a Hilux rear end conversion. Rare as rocking horse poo!
So I went with R32/R33 turbo rear calipers. You loose the handbrake feature, but hey I've wanted to do an hydraulic handbrake forever.

Hyd handbrake is illegal so finding a rear caliper that wears a cable actuator is a better option. Cars like Focus, Mazda 3/6 , and many others are cable operated, there won't be much difference between them and are slightly more common for parts or replace.
The type of diff in the V6 Capri is an Atlas , I don't think the brackets Paul makes will work with the wider drums(axle poke out more) but it's nothing some spacers or washers can't fix depending on how they mount etc .

That's correct re legality Marty but this is a car is not for road registration. Apparently a handbrake isn't mandatory. I've only ever have one vehicle roll away (very sinking feeling) so I'm fitting a handbrake

Yep, John at Pro Stitch did the Capri door and rear cards. Top work
But then the workshop has a Ferrari or two in it
