Some bits and pieces of progress of late:

I've fabricated a new gearbox crossmember to suit the mx5 box. The idea is to tack two pieces of angle to the under-side of the car in the area there is some transmission tunnel reinforcement and then bolt up the crossmember. I've used a spare 35mm engine mount as the vibration dampener and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's in etch primer at the moment and will get a top coat once it's had a trial fit.

Also I had some flanges laser cut for the supercharger and the second throttle body (for noise reduction on the inlet side of the charger) to blank off the idle bypass controller

I've picked up an old Haltech E6x with brand new plug components for not a lot of money and so I've started building the loom for it. The plan is to run multipoint injection and coil on plug wasted spark, 3 bar map sensor is en-route and I'm saving for some 550cc injectors out of the US. Trigger wheel is set up on the crank pulley but I forgot to take a photo, maybe next time.

A bit more progress over the past few months:

I've attached the gearbox mount to the underside of the car, had the original tail-shaft shortened and the yoke changed to suit the mx5 box so the drivetrain is capable of driving; the pinion seal is rooted so I'll have to go back and replace it later but the main thing is it all fits.

I picked up a cast mx5 b6 turbo manifold 'stress-relieved' the flange plate, drilled a couple of extra holes to suit the b6t head and made a 10mm thick adaptor plate to convert it from T3 to TD04 to suit the scoobydoo forester turbo I picked up as well

Fuel tank has been removed ready for a fuel cell

Still looking pretty ghetto and have some challenges around the radiator and intercooler mounting to overcome.

Supercharger has been sidelined for the moment as the space is getting a bit tight. Need to get a 3 master cylinder pedal box at some point to simplify the brake and clutch set-up if someone is looking for just the 120y mc conversion alone (cable clutch) then I'd be willing to part with it

Good reading. After a warm summer, must be time to evict the spiders again.
What car is the b6t from ?

Thanks. I wasn't that successful in getting rid of them in the first place; it adds a bit of adrenalin to the garage.
The motor is out of a BFMR Mazda 323 GTX I think; I never saw the car, the guy I got it from was going to stick it in a festiva but lost interest

So after a bit of a hiatus I'm back into it. There was no way the clutch master cylinder was going to work on the firewall as it landed too close to the inlet manifold. After much deliberation I've gone with a budget remote reservoir master cylinder setup copied from the many balance bar boxes out there. Pretty happy with the result, everything looks nice in gloss black 😉 Just made from scrap I had in the garage and a fleabay mc total cost $30 and a bit of time

Looks like a good start, you're lucky you have the height to keep the original manifolds.
I pulled the distributer out and plugged the hole with a Welch/core plug; if you want to make decent power you'll need an aftermarket ECU (which can use a trigger wheel set-up). I needed to get rid of it for clearance, the Mk2 escort engine bay is quite tight for clearance

A former club member put something like this setup into his Cortina Mk2 1600e, probably 10yrs ago now.
The project was written up in Zoom magazine. The supercharger pipework would not have looked out of place in an art gallery.

On that big hill heading south of Sydney on the Hume, my V6 Capri torque was leaving everyone else behind until this white Mk2 zapped past me. What the ??  Really pulled up the hills, but still looked a sleeper.

Sounds good, I'd like to track down the article.
I've given up on the supercharger/twin charged setup in favour of a straight turbo; to be fair it was a bit beyond my skills and budget. It'd work really well with a little rotrex but the mini charger was just too application specific

Possibly this one ?
