Thanks for the replies :)
I was tempted to throw an sr20 in it but i wanted to keep it ford. Apparently the blacktop can handle a little over 300hp without any dramas and no headwork required. Here's some old progress pic's for anyone who's keen to do the conversion on the cheap.

Couldnt afford the bias pedal box so i just used the standard booster and modified the inner guard. Note the mondeo pedalbox is identical to the escort box.

Home made water rail

Focus blacktop exhausted manifold flipped over and turbo flange welded on

Inlet manifold, this was a massive job! not fun

I couldnt get access to my old house due to a nasty divorce! So I had a lot of small bits and pieces missing, including a reconditioned starter motor  So I had to find a way of using the zetec starter. I wasn't to keen on chopping up the dellow bellhousing..

Mondeo bellhousing, chopped out the starter flange..

Clamped in place ready to weld..

Done! was worried that the starter would make horrible noises due to the starter not being aligned with the flywheel, but it works great!

Massive exhaust, must let the zetec breath!

Zetec, first start..: http://youtu.be/KZllfk22_X0

She runs! Using the stock mondeo ecu, no maf so it doesn't idle at all. I have ordered a megasquirt ecu then it will be going on the dyno :)
