i have a dcoe 40 single weber on pinto
i have been adjusting the idle mixture and i can screw them all the way in and the engine will not drop in off.
what does this mean.(idle jets too big, or something else)

I suspect you have an air leak - check the gaskets between the DCOE and manifold as they are typically the first to go. We use to spray aerostart around the manifold and you should hear the rev's increase when you find the leak (as the aerostart is sucked in).

thanks for that i will try tonight.
should the engine die in rpm as i screw in the idle mixture screw, i can screw it all the way in and it increases the whole way.

Ahh the joys of sidedraughts
Pauls right on that one, air leaks are common, I'll try the aerostart trick in the future, cheers for that one.... next in my process of elimination was fuel pressure. Webbers will run at a surprisingly low pressure, solved most of my problems by dropping it right down...
Good luck with it............
