I'll make this short, Starting rebuilding the master cylinder in my newly acquired mk1 escort this morning and whilst trying to remove the brake fluid reservoir I realised that some bright spark before me has filled it with some kind of sealant to stop it leaking (they've failed), Now, after giving up on trying to remove the reservoir as I was concerned I would break it, I replaced all the seals I could get to bar the furthermost rear seals that require the reservoir to be removed to get to... having reinstalled my half assed job at fixing the master cylinder I have realised that it is leaking brake fluid from around the bottom of the reservoir at a moderate rate. on the plus side i have fantastic peddle pressure and brakes but we all know leaking brake fluid isnt a good thing.
Being new at escorts does anyone have any hints or tips at removing the reservoir without damaging it?
I will post pics of the patch up job I mentioned before once my full membership has gone through.
Also off topic; and I appologise mods, but is there a noobs playground or get to know eachother board on this forum as I was a previous member of ozgemini (then i got an escort) and they were a fairly unforgiving bunch.

I would hazard a guess that if they have tried to use sealant and it is still leaking out from the bottom of the reservoir then the reservoir is already broken.

Mmm I thought as much fortunately there is a booster and mcyl on ebay at the moment which is decently affordable. With any luck it will be in better condition than mine. That is unless I go play at the wreckers and find a suitable replacement for the reservoir, but seeing as I couldnt remove it without breaking it I'm not too hopeful.
