Got a quick question, and it might be a bit vague but I can get some more details this arvo...
 
My Girlfriends Father has a mk2 Cortina 1.6 with a worked head, double valve springs installed.
He has taken the head in for a service and the mechanic said the valve oil seals were not correct and had come out or loose?
Does anyone know the right seals to use for this head?

The OE style valve stem seal won't fit with double valve springs, and it is only a mushroom type seal that floats on the valve anyway, it doesn't fit tight anywhere.
 
The seal I use is an Isuzu item from memory, off the gemini engines.  You need to modify it to fit by cutting the bell and clip off the bottom, then it fits fine.  It is usually a snug fit depending on what the guide top looks like (these can change on a modified head).
 
They have always worked fine on my cylinder heads, I am sure others have other methods though.

I've used Honda seals.....can dig out part no. if needed or Burton's supply seals to fit.

If youve got the honda seals part number that can be sourced in au that would be tops as the heads in the shop and we are keen to get it back together

Sorry hope not too late.........can't find Honda invoice but they were from 90's 1600. Burton part no. which I have also used is FP705A and were .66p each.

I use Nissan L16/18 valve stem seals. They fit perfectly with double valve springs.
