Hi all,
I have a Mk1 Panelvan which has some modern boring wheels on it..
And I want to get some minilites or something similar,
but I am not sure what width will fit the Van with standard guards..

I know the diff is from a Mk2 and the front hubs have been upgraded to Mk2 Also, but that shouldn't make any difference to the space..

Anyone else on here running 13x7 superlites on an Escort Panelvan with no modifications?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

KJ :-)

The wheels above look bigger than 13"? Or my eyes may be deceiving me..
13x7 wheels with some 185/60/13 or smaller tyres should fit as long as you have the offsets spot on. And depending how low and stiff you have the car also.
On the front do you have RS front guards? They sit quiet a bit higher than the standard guard and give a bit of clearance, especially if the car is low.

Theres a thread on turbosport with a bit more info.

Yeah I currently have 15's on it - and I want to go back to 13's.
I am sure the front guards are stock.. and I'm not sure about the offset needed..
The Car is lowered a little in the front and is quite stiff yes - all new suspension, with camber struts in the front.

I had a look at that thread - some helpful stuff there.. one person mentions: they need to be ET6 if you are using 13".. what does that mean exactly?!!

Have a look here to learn about offsets.

Some good wheels here.  Whilst it's the uk, you deduct their vat of 17.5% and you'll be surprised how cheap you can land a set of wheels.

VAT in the UK is now 20%.

7" wheels with ET6 will require the guards to be rolled if the tyres are wide enough.  UK people tend to use only 175s on 7" wheels, which are too narrow in my opinion (both with regards to fitting on the rim properly and aesthetically), but they seem to get away with it.  If running wider tyres, such as 205/60s (which would keep the speedo accurate), better to use the commonly available (locally) ET13, which moves the wheels in an extra 7mm.
