Well,

Have been driving the white car around for over a month and nowe have the urge to change a few things already... Suprised it took me this long really (The green one has long since been parted out and sold on, last I knew it was in NSW.)

Only mods I've made to the escort so far is a nice period lucas reverse lamp. I'm currently modding some struts to lower the front 2" and will lower the rear 1.5". Will then swap to a 13" wheel. Wheel bearings also need changing.

I have a spare motor on the stand with sierra injection that's getting the supercharger fitted to it. As soon as it's done and running I'll swap the gear into the escort. I cant affoard to have it off the road now for more than a weekend as it is my daily.

Will get some pics up as soon as I find the lead for the camera.

Here are some pics of the car as it stands, not exactly pretty, but neat enough for a daily.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend, I'll have it lowered and on the 13's. Injection has been running on the test engine. That'll be next.

Well, it's been a while and haven't actually done a great deal lately.

After lifting the bonnet to discover I had a leaky water pump, I thought it was about time I spent a little time on the old girl... Discovered that one of the bolts was missing on the pump!! Put one in, tightened it up, no more leaks... Easy fix. Also had to change a rear wheel cylinder after discovering a spongy peddle one morning.

Still yet to fit the lowered front struts as I recently acquired a pair of twink legs so may convert to coilover instead...[x2x]

Other than that, my trusty celica box has developed an annoying whine in 4th and 5th around 100km/h... Might be time to change it over, otherwise, I'll just add some more oil and see if it solves the problem.

Needing a distraction from teaching rounds, and seeing BLOWNMK12L's setup for sale, I thought it was about time to drag the old supercharged motor out of hibernation........

Haven't had it running for few years so dragged it out and redid some of the brackets. Just need to space the charger back 5mm and possibly fit an idler pulley, although it ran fine without one last time....

Here it is after sitting for 4-5 years...

Looks great Shaun...although you might have a battle mounting the right front strut to the lower balljoint[;^)]

I was wondering when someone would pick up on that....

It was lying around and fitted... so why not??

By the way, my old green escort is now in the states being coverted to left hand drive and god knows what drive line setup....[8~2]

Well, 2 years on and I've still got the MK1 !!!

It was my daily driver up until quite recently however I now have an old navara which has given me the opportunity to pull the old girl off the road and give her a bit more ooomph.

The supercharger setup went well, and soon gave me the urge to up the boost, so I bought a smaller diameter clutchless pulley from ebay......  but never fitted it before i lost a ring land.  Then back on webers.

I'm now finally building the new turbo engine, of which I have been collecting parts for the best part of 5 years.
Basically its cosworth bottom end with a big valve SOHC all held together with ARP's etc etc running on EMS.

I have decided to take my chance with the Ebay turbo after meeting with a guy whose gemini runs 9's on one.

I'm taking bets as to when (if) boost will come in by.

Has taken a lot of measuring but it all fits under the bonnet, I'm currently building the exhaust tunnel for the 3" system. .

Here is a mockup of the turbo and intercooler piping.

god highmounts look so much better, only thing ive found with these plastic turbos is that they are not a fan of excessive surge (dose) as ive found when mine kicked the compressor housing off the cartridge and made contact with the impeller blades, but if you only plan of running lowish boost levels they are an ok turbo. and the internal wastegate setups they run are rubbish, if you are using it expect lost of wastegate creep and boost spiking as they do not flow enough air to maintain steady boost control. treat yourself to a nice external set up. then everyone can have the pleasure knowing you are at full boost
